Orlando, FL — Women represent 91% of sexual assault victims, while men account for 9%. These numbers serve as an urgent reminder of the need to create safe spaces for healing, connection, and emotional recovery for those affected by domestic and sexual violence.
With this mission, Nuevo Sendero proudly announces the expansion of its program “Healing Community”, a safe and supportive space designed to offer restoration, active listening, and emotional support. The program is open to survivors, their families, and anyone navigating the effects of abuse or violence.
Guided by trained professionals, “Healing Community” provides practical tools for resilience, encourages the rebuilding of healthy relationships, and strengthens community bonds as part of the recovery journey. Its impact continues to grow across Orange, Volusia, Osceola, Seminole, and Polk counties.
“We want every participant in Healing Community to feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward. It’s an important step toward recovery and renewed hope,” said Dr. Diana Mejía, Founder and CEO of Nuevo Sendero.
