The nonprofit organization Nuevo Sendero proudly introduced the “Women in Purple” movement during the presentation of its fundraising event featuring the conference “From Battle to Victory,” led by renowned author and international speaker Janet Pérez Eckles.
The event was held at the Shakespeare Theater in the heart of Downtown Orlando and included a pre-event networking reception with community leaders, partners, and members of the community. All funds raised directly benefited Nuevo Sendero’s Emergency Program, which provides immediate assistance to women and families fleeing situations of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Diana Mejía, Founder and CEO of Nuevo Sendero and leader of the movement, shared, “This event is more than a presentation. It is an opportunity to come together as a community, raise our voices, and actively contribute to transforming lives.”
Olga Aymat, Board President, added, “Each ticket purchased represented a step toward healing, dignity, and rebuilding a life free from violence.”
Additionally, Matty Frias, General Coordinator of the movement, emphasized that “Women in Purple will unite women with generous hearts who wish to work together in support of this cause.”
